We have been hearing for years that virtual reality (VR) was the thing of the future, promised to be the biggest technology of our generation. And the advancements that we see around us in everyday life, are proof! VR has seen a phenomenal adoption rate among both businesses and consumers.

Here’s what we think of the year 2019 in VR
According to a 2018 Variety article, “global virtual reality revenues will reach $7.17 billion by the end of this year, according to a new report by Greenlight Insights, which is also predicting that global VR revenues will total close to $75 billion by 2021.”
Content Sync
The most appealing part of VR is the ability to completely immerse yourself within the content.High quality content is easily available to the masses. Because of that, the general public has seen enough use cases for VR content’s relevance to their lives.
Headsets
VR headsets are developing quickly, rapidly becoming more advanced. 2018 saw more headsets with a built-in screen, negating the need to insert a phone in the hardware. Some hardware developers have even begun to build their devices with the option to be wireless, which saves users the hazards of operating the systems while attached to a wire. The year 2019 will see an improvement in the mechanism of headsets. HTC released a headset in early 2018 with wireless capabilities. This headset includes a high-resolution screen with improved sensors.

The Future
While we predict that VR will soon come to surpass AR in mass adoption, the future of these two technologies are tied to one another. Developers in the space are committed to launching VR. And this technology still poses massive benefits to both businesses and consumers.
VR will continue to grow, more than anticipated. It’s safe to make the assumption that AR was born from VR, as it is the older technology. And in 2019 and beyond, VR will benefit from the further development of AR technologies.
Adding to the perks, VR has begun to develop on its own, becoming more compact and less cumbersome than AR. The software brings in a virtual element without losing the real world.. For that reason, by the year 2025, businesses will see that VR has a more logical place in business than AR.
What sources have to say….
Standalone headsets are adding a whole new dimension to VR technology which definitely is good news!
Gartner has stated that VR is now a mature technology for enterprise usage, YaY!
The latest reports by market analysts are finally positive again for what concerns VR. The number of bought headsets is increasing! * Sigh of relief*
